Carl K. Gjertson, M.D.

Assistant Professor of Surgery

Dr. Gjertson received his B.A. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University in 1993 and his M.D. from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University in 2001. He completed his surgical training at the Squier Urological Clinic of Columbia University Medical Center in 2006. He subsequently pursued fellowship training in laparoscopic/robotic surgery and endourology at Indiana University School of Medicine from 2006-07. Dr. Gjertson is a member of the American Urological Association, Endourological Society, Gold Humanism Honor Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He is board certified in urology since 2009 and is the author of several publications and book chapters. Dr. Gjertson's practice is focused on the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones as well as tumors of the prostate, kidney, and adrenal gland.
