Amir R. Nasir, M.D.

Overview:

Dr. Nasir is a board certified plastic surgeon with specialized training in aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery. He was one of a handful of young doctors in the United States selected for the prestigious six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Kansas. Following his training there, Dr. Nasir elected to do an additional year of training at Boston University to refine his surgical skills. Upon completion of his training, he worked for several years at a Level 1 trauma center in New York State before moving to Connecticut with his family and joining UConn Health. Dr. Nasir's warm bedside manner and personal touch reflects his firm belief that the patient comes first. He works closely with his patient to identify issues and help them achieve great results in the safest possible manner whether they have reconstructive or cosmetic needs. Dr. Nasir sees patients of all ages, from young children to geriatric patients. Dr. Nasir grew up in a small town in Upstate New York and maintains those values. He studied optical engineering in college. He worked as an engineer for several years before joining the Peace Corps and moving to West Africa for two years to work on the Guinea Worm Eradication Project. His experience in West Africa inspired his transition into the medical field and his artistic eye directed him to the speciality of plastic surgery. He looks forward to meeting new patients and working with them to help them achieve their goals!
